the explosion in social networking sites such as myspace, friendster, facebook or schülervz is widely regarded as an exciting opportunity, especially for youth as a way to express themselves. there is a growing number of private self-published media and communication processes shift increasingly into virtual spaces to continuously recreate an elaborate identity. this report explores teenagers' identity presentation in social networks for the youth in the age of 12-18 years. new approaches with regard to self expression will be developed to provide an overview of youth-related platforms to maintain possible distinctive features, correlations and trends regarded to the identity presentation. the result of this work consists on the one derived from knowledge about the presentation of the digital identity, the other was derived from conditions for a prototypical implementation of an alternative interface.
